Hunan, China
The name Hunan literally translates to "south of the lake", referring to
Dongting Lake the second largest freshwater lake in China. Hunan's subtropical
climate is humid, with short winters and hot, wet summers. Making it an
excellent location for the cultivation of tea.
This landlocked province is famous for its production of yellow teas, most
notably Junshan Yinzhen, which was developed on an island in the middle of
Dongting Lake.
