How long have you been growing tea and what got your started?
I have worked with tea for more than 25 years. I was born into a tea family. Everyone in my county works with tea, so I do as well.
Can you describe a typical day out in the field?
I get up at 7 and go to the tea mountains around 8. My main job is to pick up the tea leaves. Then I will deliver the fresh leaves to our tea factory. I work during busy season in the factory as well.
What is your favorite part of growing tea?
I love the lovely jasmine smell when scenting the teas with the jasmine flowers. The whole work room is filled with the pleasant smell.
Conversely, what is the hardest part of your job?
It is hard to work during the scenting process in the evening. We have to work at midnight during the summer when the jasmine flowers are blooming. It is very hot, but the fragrance is very touching.
Are there any tips you can give on how to best brew your tea?
I would like to use a small elegant porcelain or glass teapot to brew the wonderful yinhao longzhu. It is very relaxing while drinking this pleasant tea. I love the jasmine smell and the beautiful long zhu shape.
